Hi Sierra,

What directory did you install your WordPress blog at?

If you installed it on /blog directory, you’ll type in yourdomain.com/blog to get to it.

Since you intend to have your blog on your root domain, simply leave the “install in directory” text box empty in step #6.

Hi again
I’m still having a few issues I’m hoping to get help with if you don’t mind
I set up my domain through wholesale and my host through hostgator. I installed wordpress and a theme, but when I type in my address into the browser the hostgator screen still pops up instead of my themed site. Do you have any idea what I could be doing wrong?

I’m just trying to set up my blog and think I’m running into trouble! I’m on wholesale domains and trying to click the nameservers, but when I click on it, it gives me multiple options. What do I choose? I purchased hosting through hostgator…:)

Hi Haley,

Have you already set up the email account in your web host’s control panel (ie. yourdomain.com/cpanel)?

If you are hosted with Hostgator, you can access your email via the web at yourdomain.com/webmail

Alternatively, you can configure your email account to be checked via Outlook or another desktop email client.

As far as using a picture from your iPad as your blog header, I’m going to make a wild guess here since I don’t own an iPad (yet). You will just need to browse to your WordPress dashboard from your iPad, then choose the picture file to be uploaded as the blog header.

Let me know if this helps steer you in the right direction. I’ll also confirm this with a friend who has an iPad.

You’ve got plenty of options here. Simply go to Plugins -> Add New in your WordPress dashboard. In the search box type in “twitter” and you’ll see plenty of Twitter related plugins. The first one, called “Twitter”, seems like it will do the job (click on Details link to see screenshots).

Hi Allen,

Yes, web hosting and domain registration can be through separate providers. You can also purchase web hosting from GoDaddy as well.

You just need to point your domain name to your web host’s name servers (see Step #4 above).
