Ooops!

Steven.

Sorry about that.

Regarding the dot.com domain names under a free service, you can just take that(Dot.com domain) with you over to the paid, service when you decide to move.

Michael,

You can actually get a dot.com through free Blogging services(Well, Blogger, anyway)

You simply purchase the domain name, after checking to see if it's available.

So the site is still under Blogger, though, with a dot.com url name.

When buying the Blog domain name this way, you are then given access to your own CPanel.

In the CPanel, you have a few free apps with the option to purchase a variety of others.

My honest opinion? Though doing things this way is good, cost wise, for monetizing options(And full control) paid hosting for your own site is much better.
